Back To The Grave
It should have never ended like this
The casket should still be empty
Tears roll down your mothers cheek
The rain wets the head stone
It's new, engraved "Here lies our son."
Seventeen years,
gone to nothing, almost wasted.
How could you do that
Be so selfish?
You left everything behind
Soon memories of you will fade in mind
Is it painless?
A bottle of pills
A slash at the wrist
the blood drains on to the floor
your eyes roll back into your head
It's all over now.
Can't take it back.
How scared were you?
Did you feel the numbness?
You knew it was painless.
You thought no one loved you,
or no one cared.
But who is no one?
You always seemed to need someone
The first time that no one was there
you just went an had to end it all
Don't you realize...
all you really need is yourself?
Even so,
people did care.
Someone will always.
Did you know it was Sunday night?
Now Monday mourn...
You had taken your life
only hours before.
Your mother had walked in,
not paying attention to her baby.
"It's time for school!"
She said it only once.
And then she notice your body
laying cold white,
on the floor.
Now it's all back to her memories
of pre-school and nursery rhymes.
She screamed.
I always had wished I had you're courage...tears come to mind,
I can only picture it
to just go and take my life.
Then again, I'm glad I don't.
I never want to be that selfish.
That isin't courage you know.
Only a coward could give up like that
It's all just to make you think
Don't let only pictures and
mourners be left.
It's all back to the
casket and the grave.

Back To The Grave
ATTENTION: Due to finanical difficulties, the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.
"They turn the lights down low,
In shadows hiding from the world,
Only coming out when it gets cold.
The seas part when they hit the floor,
The voices carry on and out the door
And everything you touch turns into gold
Like the angel you are you laugh creating a lightness in my chest,
Your eyes they penetrate me,
(Never cease to amaze me)
That's when I got up and left" Like The Angel - Rise Against
