Future?

Post by Nikki » Sun Feb 09, 2003 3:02 pm

I dunno why I feel like it.. I'm 17, the childhood is over and will never come back. I have to make my own life, go on by myself, I can't be like I used to be - a happy kid, living with parents that take care of you and you have nothing to worry about.

Now I have to think about my future. Who will I be? What will I be? Where will I be? i don't see my future... I dunno, but when I try to look in front of me, in my future, it feels like my life stops at 20. Coz i've no idea how it's gonna be and it scares me.

I don't even have a boyfriend. I only had one bf in my life, and I went out with him for 2 weeks... My best friend has left far away from here, all my closest friends are in another country, where I'm from... I'm afraid of loneliness...

And I cannot be myself anymore, I cannot just do what I want, can't go crazy.. I'm not a kid anymore......

I dunno if it's right what I feel, coz everybody around just seem to move on, not caring about things like that and they seem to be happy with it. So.. am I crazy??? Coz I feel like it...

How to go on???

I think everyone goes through this, no worries. It is rough realizing you aren't a kid anymore and you'll soon be out facing the world alone. But hey, you can pull through. Don't even worry about the future, take life a day at a time. Make decisions you think will help you in the future (don't do stuff without considering the consequences, that is), but at the same time don't worry about having everything planned out. Just take it day by day. Good luck! :)

O MY GOD we are SOOO on the same level. i'm 16 and lately i've been missing my childhood so much. i feel like suddenly it was all just GONE and my innocence and blissful ignorance just disappeared in one quick move. i don't know when it happened exactly but i hate it too. i don't want to think realistically, i miss the fantasy world of the little mermaid and snow cones after church! growing up is really hard but you're not alone. i feel like everyone else is totally ok with getting older too, but obviously we're all hiding the fact that we miss being little kids. it sucks where we are. we're not kids, we're not adults, we're just the shit in the middle! i don't want to transition to adulthood though, i want to go back in time! i totally feel your pain. IM me if you want, my sn is barbieboopadoop

Just 'cause you're older doesn't mean you can't have mermaids and sno-cones! Go play imagination with a cardboard box. Start babysitting with kids you like and you can play with them (and you get paid--the best of both worlds!) or something like that. Have a Disney movie marathon ;) Just because you're growing up doesn't mean you can't partake in the fun innocent pleasures of life once in a while.
