Not Too Sure?

Post by angelviccy » Mon Jun 27, 2005 12:31 pm

i asked a friend about this the other day.. she is on here and her advice was pretty well taken but just seeing other peoples advice..

when i was younger i got made to go church.. well i got asked to as part of my youth group ( Brownies(7-11 yr olds) and Guides(11-14yr olds), dont kno if you have them where ever ur reading this from lol ) and i actually quite liked going, i belived in theese things but i didnt go every week it was just 1ce a month thing.

anyway, when i left guides( at 14) i became a Young leader to a Brownie pack. i loved it, i am still there now and i love the children they are the best. However we don't go to church apart from 1ce a year. that 1ce was on sunday.

Now i have been thinking for a while to go back to church.. there is 1 down my road and i figured i might be able to get help there. well and when i went ther ethe other day i felt really confiable there, like something there was calling me in like i was at home.

so ur saying well just go to church then? go back to it?

1 problem...

My family are like well how can i say.. extreamly egaist religous people.. they are like my antie which thew her daughter (my cusin) out of her house at the age of 15 becaus she found out she was religous...

also, im bisexual as you know and have been with a girl like a year and a bit now...

advice???

 Well Bronwen, you already have my advice. But I guess I'll put it here again so you can read it with all the other advice.

-I thought you had said you were going to break up with the girl? Remember, if you do it, just be gentle and kind and let her down easy and still be friends if you want to be. :)

-Start going to church and praying for your family and witnessing to them, and I'll be praying too and God works all kinds of miracles like we said last night.

 *Tuggles*'

Love you LOADS. Don't let your family keep you from church, love.

Friend,

Your situation seems very simple to me, If you feel a calling to return to worshiping God, then go for it. Being Bi or having a G/f should not stop you, Faith is a Relationship between you and your Savior, and no one else, so if God is calling you to worship, then there is no reason you shouldn't take full advantage of the Grace.....

Also,

Other people's Opinions are really not necessary for you to make this decision, remember Faith is between you and God, no one else, so no one can make the decision for you... You have to want to worship God for it to mean anything, so again if YOU, WANT to, then by all means please......

-God Bless

I'm not sure how old you are, but there comes a time when you have to stop worrying about what your parents think, especially if what you are doing isn't harmful. Now, if you honestly think they would throw you out of the house, then that's a consideration. But barring that, you should go to church if you feel like it. Your parents need to know that you can't be expected or forced to be like them, in this way or in any other way.
G-d is not a man, that He should be deceitful, nor a son of man that He should change His mind. (Numbers 23:19)

The fear of the L-RD is the beginning of knowledge; foolish ones scorn wisdom and discipline. (Proverbs 1:7)

The beginning of wisdom is to aquire wisdom; from your every acquisition acquire understanding. (Proverbs 4:7)

Sounds like a toughie with the family. Are you sure your parents will do the same to you? If need be, go to Church in secret, or pray in secret in your bedroom.Thats all I can really suggest at the moment.Sorry.

 Maybe after a little time has passed you and this girl can be friends again? And, love, I'm proud of you for being so brave and going to church no matter what the consequences.

I'm praying for you and I love you.

It's normal to be afraid of being alone, but something very important to keep in mind is that to be happy with someone else, in a relationship, you first have to be happy alone and with yourself. There's nothing wrong with being single for a while.
G-d is not a man, that He should be deceitful, nor a son of man that He should change His mind. (Numbers 23:19)

 Yay and more yay. Church is fabulous for that. People tend to be lovely and welcoming and sweet. :) I'm glad you've made friends.

And I'm so sorry you're heartbroken, love. :( That's an awful feeling. But with time your heart will mend and (who knows) you may even find someone new to love! When you're ready of course.

Love you, Hannah

i just want to ask one thing. did you break up with the girl because you WANTED to or because of religion?
Turning over in interrupted slumber,

You ponder others, growing ever wakeful,

You've locked the vermin in the other bedroom,

To be so perfect causes you to feel so thankful,

Now find the fault because your boyfriend can't read,

Reflecting on to you is all the bitterness you need,

So unhappy, yet so preoccupied,

Never found beaten down with your forked tongue tied.

Your eulogy is like poetry,

But your mouth is like a magazine.

Queen dependency is cowering, please don't be confused,

You are vacant and submissive, receptive to abuse,

Virtue isn't tangible, and sense of self is dated,

Names constant on your cracked lips are now eviscerated,

Your spine is made of metal, Your veins are bound in electric tape,

And all along an impulse lights at random in your face,

Yough cought up an offering and forget which words are lies,

Then your skull echoes a singeing pop, as your brain is cauterized.

The two aren't necessarily separate.

You talk like religion is some annoying thing to be worked around and shoved into a corner. For many people religion is a priority.
