Locking

Post by SirPostAlot »

hey can we, low level people lock a topic?

cuz i have noticed many times that someone has already gotten there answer and people are just putting "yeah i think the same as so and so"...

so how do we lock them? or do we just leave them alone?

I'm not an admin, and I'm sure I'll get flamed for "postwhoring" here, but I want to say this. If you were to allow regular users to lock a topic, some topics that shouldn't be locked would. Locking is a moderative power, and I think we should leave it that way, otherwise things would get out of hand. However, some things need to be locked more quickly, or they become a place for "postwhores" like me.

if you think that a post is inappropriate (Sp) then use "report this post" at the bottom of the post... or contact an admin/mod.

Is there a way we can lock topics we created? Like once we are satisfied with an answer to a topic WE created, Can we like lock them, or delete them? If not, Could a MOD be made? Id like to be able to lock and/or delete topics I personally start. Just a thought..

The entire point of this board is to have a MASSIVE archive people can use the search section for

topics users create will STAY open, unless fights break open or something a mod/admin realizes and the topics needed to be locked

*moved to suggestions*

BTW, search a bit sanchez, there is a suggestion just like this, also denied.... in the suggestions forum

If you take a second and read what it says, any person can understand it.

I mean you can search on yahoo right?

"Search by Keywords" - what's hard about that - sex period hurt

"Filter by Member Name (optional)" - leave it blank, its optional - for advanced use only

Search Where?

= Search in forum - change to all forums, if not already that, hit submit

not reallly hard, just takes 1 minute to read over.

u still should have locking topics

doesnt necessarily have to delete them.

In addition it would filter out a lot of people who post nonsense after bullshit offtopic stuff that u guys so desparately want to destroy with the whole no post count Teen Lounge.

The original argument can be found here.

This would be a terrible thing, although you may have had your problem fixed, but someone with the same problem may benefiet from stuff that is put in later.

Ok then another question. If we make a topic about an issue we have and after that issue is handled, Can we request an admin delete that topic?

Yes, as a matter of a fact...there is a way you can do it. I've disabled it for the reason given by my co-admin, OverDrive. Sorry, but you're not the first to suggest this. We've turned it down every single time because of the way we want this site. It's meant to be a giant archive of useful knowleadge for teenagers.

If there is a personal problem and your parents got on the comp, you could ask a mod, supermod or admin to move that topic into the recycle bin.

that's not a postwhore comment sammy, but just agreeing with everyone is. just leave it alone, we've all postwhored in our day from time to time. as long as it's nothing offensive it's no biggie.
