To be nobody but yourself in a world thats doing its best to make you somebody
else is to fight the hardest battle you are ever going to fight. Never stop fighting.
You do anything long enough to escape the habit of living,
Until the escape becomes the habit.
Everything is ok in the end.
If its not, then its not the end.

Re: The Story Of Carol Layman
you see, that's where you're wrong. strong is dealing with it like normal people. like jessica or lauren. missing her but staying happy. not cutting or gettting depressed and suicidal. i hate it when people tell me i'm strong because i'm not. i was strong enough to stay alive, nothing more.
i'm glad you love my story so much
i poured my heart and soul into it, and to have it so appreciated is an honor to both carol and i.
i'm glad you love my story so much

Re: The Story Of Carol Layman
becky, thats a reaction that most ppl had. hell i started cutting, thought about suicide. hell i cant stop cutting. becky, u stayed alive, n i give u a hell of a lot of credit for that after loosing ur best friend.

Re: The Story Of Carol Layman
no that's a reaction very few people had. carol was close friends with many past cutters and the only ones who took it up again as far as i know are you me and sara. they are the strong ones not me. i cut and thought about suicide. that's not strength, that's selfishness because i know that tons of people care about me and i wanted to take myself away from them. that, to me, is the ultimate weakness- throwing way life because it gets too hard. but i wanted to do it for a long long time.

TJ[10:13 PM]: no not really..... it's all so.... like wow..... screw steps, you took a fuckin jet pack and strapped it on yourself and rocketed your way forward (thats my big bro)
And I'm going to extremes
Tomorrow I will change
And today won't mean a thing
I'm a bitch, I'm a tease
I'm a goddess on my knees
When you hurt, when you suffer
I'm your angel undercover
I've been numb, I'm revived
Can't say I'm not alive
You know I wouldn't want it any other way

well, i understand why this was moved, but the reason i posted it was for those who are suicidal to read it and think twice about it... it's not so much of a "why me?" as a "please read this story before you commit and think about how many people it will affect." i was wondering if maybe this could be moved back? i think it's more likely suicidal people will see it there than at the very back of the why me section. just a thought....

Becky,
I have added this topic to a topic pinned in the suicide forum. I'll give the link:

It will mean that this topic is still useful to those who use the suicide forum.
Take care.
Love, Lena.

Re: The Story Of Carol Layman
yeah, same here. there's another site where i've posted it, and there's a few people who have told me it's changed their lives (they were prolly exaggerating, but it still made me feel special
)

I think any stories like this are capable of changing lives. They certainly put things in perspective for me when I was feeling that bad. Just my thoughts....
Take care,
