"forum Sharing"

Post by SirPostAlot »

Latly this forum hasn't been posted in alot latly, for reasons i don't know...

so i figured we could make this into something more than just a place for your basic questions about yourself, we can make this into a sharing forum too where lets say someone just wants to know how your family and friends took your coming out, and we can share our experiences and inesence help out others - so its similar to the actual questions, but is more of a personal story...

I think my coming out is rather unique, mostly because I haven't faced any adversity from my heterosexual peers, but rather, from my homosexual ones. I found that as I came out, I still really identified more with my straight friends, but tried to connect with this new gay community that I felt like I was a part of, I felt ostracized by them. I didn't (and still don't) get into fashion, go to all the gay bars, throw myself at anything with a penis, or start talking with a lisp, and I watch and play sports, drink lots of beer, make rude comments about womenfolk, and other such "manly" things. So I felt like I wasn't a part of the gay community. Which I feel is odd because most people, when they come out, come out and embrace their gay community, but I didn't.

Cool idea, Jeff. Its good to have re-clarification of a forum occasionally. :)

I think some posts are made in sex sex sex instead of in here, overlooking this forum. **Waves* This forum is available!*

Take care,

My sister told my mother I was bisexual. No big party. I was treated like me.

That story was phenomenal.

My friends weren't real happy I kept it from them.

My roomate's incredibly self-absorbed. I've left my "Bi any other name" book out numerous times and my facebook profile says I'm bisexual. If he does know, he's being real cool about it. If he doesn't, it's his own damn fault.

this is by biggest fear - well actually i would like it if my roomate didn't care or what but my biggest fear is getting a roomate who hates me and all of that - i mean college is supposed to be a good expierence, and if i have to live w/ a homophobe it will really be distraughtful, but i will make hte best of it - but hey i have 8 months of endless mental torture....haha

After one semester, you can change rooms if you don't like your roomate.

And, odds are that he will change. Like, if he's homophobic at the start, that doesn't mean he'll stay that way. Perhaps you'll be able to change him so he's not homophobic anymore. People change when they go to college, so don't pass pre-emtive judgement simply because he starts out that way. Maybe you can work with him and he'll change.

haha i haven't been that successful in getting homophobes to like gays, i mean there are a few people more comfortable, but still hold an internal hatred factor...haha...but i'll try...

and a semester is a hell of a long time...but i'll just have to see what happens...
