Pre-law?

So does anyone know what exactly a pre-law degree entails? I want to become a law librarian so I'd need some sort of degree in law and then in library science - but i thought you could go to school just for the first 4 years and do pre-law there, but when i looked online it was saying you had to have classes already, THEN go for pre-law. So, any clues?



also I can never figure out what are the levels of degrees - bachelor's, masters, etc. Can anyone explain?

"Contrary to popular belief, there is no pre-law major; that is, there is no specifically required or recommended undergraduate major for students planning to attend law school. Students should choose a major based on their interests and abilities."



You choose whatever major you want. Here is something from Notre Dame that explains what you need to go there for graduate school and major in law. I know that isn't what you're asking for but maybe it will clear up some of the confusion.



"Applicants for admission to the Juris Doctor program must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university prior to enrolling at the Law School. The Admissions Committee does not require a particular major or undergraduate field of study; however, prospective students are advised to enroll in courses that develop and refine skills in the areas of writing, critical reading, and logical reasoning. "



There is no specific pre-law major, I don't know what you need for the librarian bit.. but hope that helps.

Awesome; thanks guys. That's more than I found. I'll take creative writing, a lot of English stuff, and the college i want to go to has anthropology which i think is awesome. So i guess statistics maybe for math?
