It's The Sexuality Survey!

Post by Paris In Flames »

1. What is your sexual orientation?

2. When did you first 'discover' it?

3. What's your coming out story?

3b. If you're not out, are you planning to come out?

4. How did your parents react?

5. How did your friends react?

6. Are you confident with your sexuality?

7. What do you think of all the teenagers thinking that they might be bisexual or gay, but then turn out not to be?

8. Anything you'd like to add??! [We LOVE hearing about you!]

1. I'm a lesbian.

2. I fell in love with my friend in seventh grade. And then everything just kind of escalated from there. ;)

3. I came out through my town newspaper...but I didn't mean it for me to be coming out. Somebody wrote the previous week about how gay marriage would allow people to marry their dogs. And I was like," blah blah blah I'm gay and I'm a teenager and you can't explain why you're straight just like I can't explain why I'm gay!" Apparently everybody reads the editorial section. Except my parents, they heard about it from their friends.

4. They were shocked...but it's become normal now. I guess I just don't come across as a lesbian at all, so nobody knows.

5. They're very supportive, and always have been!

6. Very much so. I'm so comfortable with who I am, but it's taken me three years to get to this point!

7. I think people are too quick to label themselves, and a lot of people are out for attention. I hate bisexual girsl because more than half the time, they're just not bisexual. They're just dumb and think they're attracted to girls. And then they get freaked out when I hit on them. Whatevvvvv.

It's a hard journey to self understanding.

But it's worth it.

More than anything, and I hope you all realise that!

Cheers,

Jenna

1. What is your sexual orientation? Bisexual

2. When did you first 'discover' it? Um, 14 I think?

3. What's your coming out story? I was sitting in my room, and talking about it with my older sister when she had told me she'd already let my mom know through some discussion.

3b. If you're not out, are you planning to come out? I pretty much am. But when I talk about it, I talk about it just like I would anything else. <3

4. How did your parents react? My mother said that she loves me no matter what, and whomever I choose to be with, it should be my choice, and nobody else's. That I shouldn't care what others think. That I'm the same person to her that I always have been. My mother even sent out a letter I wrote my ex girlfriend, with a stamp upside down. Apparently it used to mean it was sent with a kiss. My dad? Doesn't talk about it with me. Guess it doesn't matter to him? I dunno really.

5. How did your friends react? Most were fine with it. Some were a little "eh." Those that were accepting treated me as they had before. The curious? They asked a lot of questions, which was awkward.

6. Are you confident with your sexuality? Very :)

7. What do you think of all the teenagers thinking that they might be bisexual or gay, but then turn out not to be? For those of them that are doing it for attention, I think they should be themselves, because nobody likes a fake. Be yourself. I don't see how that's so hard.

8. Anything you'd like to add??! [We LOVE hearing about you!]

For those who have had a struggle with it, I wish luck. Even to the ones who have, and have made it through, I congratulate them, because it can be a hard thing.

Anyone can love who they want. They just shouldn't be so quick to make themselves out to be something else.

1. Bisexual

2. I first discovered it in the fifth grade when I went from thinking my friend was handsome (honest, innocent guy to guy thing), and then it seemed like every day i became a little more "aware" of just how handsome he was! Yeah, it freaked me out and, well, the rest of the story is pretty generic from there.

3b. Hm, will I ever come out? I would think I probably would, but I wouldn't sit my parents down and tell them, we've never had a real connection, they'll hear it through the grape vines like everyone else who aren't my close friends. Im not mean, i swear, but i just dont see the importance of having a sit down to tell them.

5. Some of my friends said, "whatever", and others (the girls), immediately wanted to know who i thought was hot. (literally the first thing that came out of their mouths).

6. Im confident in it, but its a rollercoaster. some days im a womanizer, and other days its the complete opposite.

7. I think they jump on it too quickly. They see it, and grab on and say, "yay! noncomformity!"

And yeah, i think most of my female friends have admitted to being bi (i have alot of lady friends), and i know they're really not. I felt really bad when my last female friend came out and said she was bi, everyone just kind of nodded and moved on. She was pissed! I knew what she was doing, she was trying to milk us for attention, but that teet had already been pulled dry. (HaHa! Metaphors....)

1. What is your sexual orientation?

I suppose my label would be bi. Most of my relationships have been with women and I haven't really had a good relationship with a man. So, until I discover my true label... I'm bisexual. I love women, and I have a mere attraction to some men.

2. When did you first 'discover' it?

I first discovered my attraction to the same sex when I was in like 6th grade. I had a huge crush on my teacher.

3. What's your coming out story?

I'm only out to my friends and my sister. I told my best friend in 11th grade and she was a little shocked but very supportive. My other friends I told casually, when I was comfortable with myself, and they were supportive as well. It doesn't bug them.

My sister. We were talking and crying about my personal problems haha and I said, "Also.. by the way, I like girls." And she continued crying. haha She's still iffy about my sexuality, but I think she's doing okay now.

3b. If you're not out, are you planning to come out?

I'll come out to my parents when I'm in a committed relationship with a woman and I'm financially stable.

4. How did your parents react?

My mom would probably be very angry and cry and swear to disown me. My dad would probably be upset, but be able to take it.

5. How did your friends react?

Supportive. Curious.

6. Are you confident with your sexuality?

I'm confident with my liking of women; I don't believe there's anything wrong with loving someone.

7. What do you think of all the teenagers thinking that they might be bisexual or gay, but then turn out not to be?

I think many teenagers go through confusing stages. One of them might be sexual orientation. And with the labels of gay and bisexual and straight, it's difficult to put one on yourself while you're a teen. My advice: don't worry so much about labels. Just be yourself and be free. Let yourself love and don't worry so much about the sex. Cause romantic love will only flow with those you're truly attracted to.

8. Anything you'd like to add??! [We LOVE hearing about you!]

Just be yourself! Don't get stuck in societies standards of FITTING a label onto you, quickly.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

1. Transexual, but straight... So, basically, I wish to be a lesbian, I guess...

2. Probably when I was 3... I was playing candyland and landed on queen snowflake, and realized that I wanted to be her.

3. I basically told a couple people in 7th grade that I wanted to experiance the female life. Nothing much.

4. My parents do not know.

5. My friends believed that I was joking.

6. Not at all. I am probably really confused of everything to do with sexuality. I have only liked girls in my life, yet I do not know whether that was meant to be, or whether it was chance. I also am still unsure of transexuality too. Do I really want that, or no?

7. I think it's really a good thing because they are experimenting. They do not know who they like, so they try something else. If they like it, then they realize who they are. If they don't, they realize they are straight.

8. Life is just confusing. I am sooo confused on my sexuality, it's not funny.
