I Just...

Post by Kit »

Over recent events that have happened in my life - for some odd reason I came across the Serenity prayer. I would like to take this time with some of you to pray and I want all of us to keep in mind the Serenity prayer.

If you don't know it here -

"God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

I don't care what religion you are. I don't care if you have none at all. If you don't have any faith - atleast try to look up to this quote. It's common sence otherwise.

Ironically, i want that in Latin/Italian tattoo'd on my body somewhere at some point. The first time i heard it, it was in the 50 Cent song,

"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things i cannot change, the courage to change things i can, the wisdom to know the differnece, the 8-80'll make ya say that, that's the prayer they burn in ya head when you in K-sak."

From then, i googled it to find the actual prayer, and fell in love with it ever sense. Nice find, Kit. :)

i dont believe in that, you will never hear me say it or attempt to follow it.
Why give up, why give in?

It's not enough, it never is.

So I will go on until
the end.

We've become desolate.

It's not enough, it never
is.

But I will go on until the end.

I've lost my way.

I've lost my way, but I will go on until the end.

Living is
hard enough

Without you fucking up.

Pardon for asking, but may i ask.. Why not?

-Peace to realize that things are out of your control, rather than stresing over them.

-Courage to realize what you have to do to change the things that you need to, and can change.

-Wisdom to realize which is which.

I dont see why you would *not* want that, i suppose. Not trying to be offensive, just wondering if you could explian your philosophy a bit more, please.

So say it was whatever else you belive in, rather than God.

Would it still be something that you would never attempt to follow? Or is it simply because of the metion of a God that you seem to have written off the entire statement?

Okay. So if we change it to this:

"I hope for the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

Would you find it was relevant to you?

nope.

It has to involve the tao because the tao is in all things. Plus there needs to be a balance. Sooooooo nope.

*sigh* This is rather funny...

Why not take religion out of it? Use it as common sence. If you can't change something - don't stress about it. If you can change it, and it should be changed, do so. Know the difference.

I'm closing this. I know exactly whats going on and I'm not going to deal with it. This was supposed to be a peaceful thing and it's turning into a debate. If anyone wants to talk about this - they can PM me.
