"The world today"
Life
Everyone lives
but the decisions we make
don't always allow us to live
they just allow us to exist
we are who we are
no one can change us
if others had the ability to change who we are
we would not be us
but instead
we'd be someone that they'd want us to be
Conformity
you see everyone wants to be someone else
but do you ever see someone who just wants to remain themself?
Emphesis
So much pressure is put on young teens today
you hear of a lot of people who are starving to be thin
dying alone
because their obsession is beginning to win
Emotions
Suicide is a big factor in teen deaths
a broken home
or being an only child
who was adopted
but is bitter
from her past or his
Rape and molestation take a toll
and can only be erased by raising the blade
those who can't find an enough of an escape through
SI end it all
they can't think through the pain
to realize that they are choosing a permanent solution to a temporary problem
Abuse
is something onthe news almost every night
some get what they deserve
while others run free
because the victim was never believed
It's memories are haunting to those who can't seem to let go
even though they say they are over it
it's always there it still remains
Faking it
some don't want others to know or see the truth
they are happy on the outside
while slowly dying on the inside
sometimes it's easier
to lie to the world than to tell others how they feel
when they know that they won't understand
Drugs
They always say
that anger is a secondary emotion
when it comes to drugs
people don't die because they are angry
they die because they are addicted
Players
People play with others emotions
fuck with their heads
they get what they want
and drop them
while the other is left unsuspecting
and hurt to the point where they no longer trust others
Alcohol
Go out get wasted shit-faced and trashed
they drive and either get caught or wreck
or they make it home safely
go to bed go to sleep and never wake up
while others just don't give a fuck
and night after night they keep this shit up
Fitting in
is all about being accepted for what you do
not who you are
those who don't fit in
do everything they can to be accepted and noticed
smoking comes first
and then everything else follows
until they can't deal and fall away
from the world and lose themselves
others don't notice what is going on
until they all realize that they are gone
Day after day
this world spins around
while no one catches
all these things going on in the world today.

I may have done some things that are wrong but hey who hasn't? I don't know anyone that is perfect. Do you?

Re: The World Today (May be triggering)
ok, so lets see, when I'm commenting on something I never like to just say, "I liked it" or "that was nice" or "I hope you feel better" so if I can't really think of anything in particular to say, then I don't bother with some generic line, perhaps some others feel that way as well, or don't want to be critical or something.
so, this came off sort of like a public serivce announcment to me, not that it's a bad thing, but I could picture it on a cammerical or in a pamplet about living up to your own personnal "potential" (I hate that word), or something like that. Your pointing out a bunch of things that as far as I'm concerned are unconrollable. They are created by allowing people to itneract as naturally as possible. Your always going to be effected by things in your environment, thats natural, but we can't get eveyone to be NICE, we can't get anyone to be nice. Some people are going to kill themselves, some people are going to have eating disorders, some people are going to do drugs... That has to do with human nature. We will do what we decide to do, even if it's stupid, even if it's mean or harmful. We aren't very itnelligent creatures, we don't learn from our mistakes, and no matter how hard we try to convince ourselves that not being "happy" and "yourself" is wrong and something that should be fixed, it's just the way things are. In our minds we all have logical reasons for the things we do, we believe in them full heartedly, and only when we look around at others and listen to what people are telling us do we begin to question those things, and convince ourselves that they are wrong. the whole "being yourself" v.s. conformity thing, I just toss that out the window. I figure everyone of us is being ourselves no matter what we are doing. even if your trying to fit in by doing something, thats being youself becasue you chose to immitate beahavior to gaine acceptence. That's what your poem made me think about, the lives we have are "flawed", becasue they will never measure up to anyones idea of perfection, but they are what we have, and they aren't going to change, so we just have to accept the fact that life isn't fun, it's a miserable race for surivival.

I think you have to choose between rhyming/unrhyming poems........you switched the flow of the poem a lot and the whole random lines that don't rhyme thing really threw me off.......just polish your writing off and you'll be great
TJ[10:13 PM]: no not really..... it's all so.... like wow..... screw steps, you took a fuckin jet pack and strapped it on yourself and rocketed your way forward (thats my big bro)
And I'm going to extremes
Tomorrow I will change
And today won't mean a thing
I'm a bitch, I'm a tease
I'm a goddess on my knees
When you hurt, when you suffer
I'm your angel undercover
I've been numb, I'm revived
Can't say I'm not alive
You know I wouldn't want it any other way
