The Girl At Work

Post by Matt B »

Okay, so there's this girl at work who, needless to say, I'm interested in. I'm pretty sure I have at least a pretty good chance of her accepting a movie or something like that, so I feel kind of confident. However, we work in a pretty busy restaurant, and there just isn't really any time to get a good conversation going, since she is a busser and I'm in the kitchen and other than a quick comment or joke or something one of us has to get back to doing our job. I don't see her anywhere but at work, so i really don't know what to do. There is always a chance that the stars align on a slow day and we get some good chatting in, but I don't want to wait too long, you know? By the way, my restaurant is really chill, so flirting isn't frowned upon at all (being that the owner tells dirty jokes and we all swear freely.) I'll go ahead and recap my main idea here, there is a girl I like and I think would at least go along with whatever, I just can't find any quality time to have a conversation. What should I do?

Hi Matt B! <img src='http://www.helpingteens.org/groups/publ ... /smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Other than the 'girl-trouble' - I hope you're OK!!

You could slip her a note saying that it 'might be fun if we went to a movie or something. Let me know if that's something you might be into doing. Here's how to contact me." And then add how she can contact you via text message, email and./or phone number. [Whatever would work best for you]

Try not to make this a big deal. It's far more likely that someone - anyone - would want to get to know you better IF you don't come across as needy or desparate.

And keep in mind that she has a perfect right NOT to respond. OR to say 'no thank you'. And she doesn't need a reason. So be OK with that.

And good luck,
