Ok, if you guys want to move this to Rape/Abuse, go ahead, but i'm putting it in here. I get REALLY bad nightmares.....like SUPER bad. I have nightmares of spiders and snakes coming to eat me, nightmares that my sister Shannon has risen from the dead and starts to abuse me again.......in fact, I see one of those two everytime I close my eyes no matter what I try to do to prevent it. i'm getting very little to no sleep, i'm exhausted all the time, and I worry i'm going to make myself sick from too little sleep........and I don't know what to do. Over the counter medicine for it didn't work....i'm freash out of ideas. why me?

You may need to get some good sleeping pills. I'm definitely no expert on sleeping pills but I should probably use them. I'd say talk to the doctor about what kind would be good for you since you say that over the counter drugs don't seem to work.
Today we sort of talked about this in lecture, how when you're trying your best not to think of something... that only insures that you'll be thinking of it. So with these nightmares (and I actually have "visions" or sorts that prevent me from sleeping) it's possible that the fear of having them in itself is helping to trigger their onset.

Jeez, hun

thats not good...
I mean everyone geos through nightmares and they do make you not sleep very well so what i did was sleep with a light on at all times...
One time i had nightmares that spiders were trying to get me so i would wrap my body as tight as possible in the blankets...not smart....
You just need to see that these are dreams...when i have bad dreams and i am still awake to a point i look at the far right corner of my dream and there is always something happy there and i focus on that until that takes the main image...
You sound more serious then mine was ever so i would either suggest trying to get pills, though you say those don't work, or you may need to go see a phycologist or something. Perhaps your school guidence counsler can help if you can't afford a physocologist (i know i couldn't)...
i hope everything works out, hunny!
