There's a guy at my school, he's a grade ahead of me (I'm in 10th, he's in 11th.) and I like him. I don't really know why I like him. He's not in any of my classes, none of his friends are my friends or even friends with my friends. I see him all the time though. I don't even know his name. I guess my question is, how do I talk to him? I don't want to seem weird or something. everyone I've asked about it tells me to just go up and say 'hi' and try and start a conversation. but i can't think of anything to say to him, I can't even think of how to say 'hi'.
can anyone help me please?

Hey Ali! Welcome to the site. I hope you enjoy your time here. 
As for this guy - find out what he's interested in. Not in the sense of being a total stalker, but find out what his interests are, things that the two of you might have in common. Maybe you could see him reading a book that you've also read and strike up a conversation or something. Is he into sports? Just find out what he likes, and you could try to do something like going up and saying "Hey, I don't mean to randomly butt in on your conversation/reading/whatever, but I couldn't help overhear/see that you were talking/reading about ___________. I was wondering, what's your opinion on _______?"
I know it's hard to strike up those sorts of conversations, but put yourself out there! I'm sure he'd be flattered.
