I Really Need Some Confidence

I swear... My self esteem is horrible. I never have anything good to say about myself. Every time I write a song or I sing I think it's horrible. I've only been proud of one song I've ever written, and it's probably something I shouldn't be proud of. I love singing and I'd like to make a career out of it, but I think my voice sucks. Plus I don't have the confidence to perform in front of people. I think that it is easier to share stuff I've written with people online, because they don't know me in person. I can also share sound clips of myself singing better online, because they don't know me. I have this fear that if I let someone I know read something I write that they will make fun of me forever. Then when I do get compliments I don't know how to take them and I'll say stuff like, "shut up! It really sucks!" Then I feel bad. I'm posting this because I was just talking to one of my online friends and I sent her a website of mine that has lyrics and sound clips. She was listening to it and saying that I have a good voice, but I totally freaked out and was like, "If you think that is good, you must need your ears checked!" grrr It's really annoying though, because music and song writing are my life, but I'm never confident in anything. I really need some confidence.

Don't give up just because you *think* your voice sucks...if my sister had done that she wouldn't be where she is now

If you like to sing dont let anyone stop you. Go all the way, if you think your voice sucks dont listen to the little voice in ur head saying you cant do it, just tell your self you can and reach for the stars! we will are be here for you when you go global!
