Narcisistic Or Isolation

How can this be happening? Why is it always me? Do you ever ask yourself these questions or do you simply want to vent? Do it all here, we'll try to help.

Narcisistic Or Isolation

Post by Trapped »

It's not wrong to want to tell people things and expect feedback is it? Well what about when you DO want them to tell you things too, but they won't/dont? Is it wrong to just to...want to be somebody's friend so much...? Does this seem narcisstitc (self-absorbed) or lonely- in the sense of someone wanting attention because they're not taken seriously or ignored?
It's the little things that make a big difference.

So, if I understand, you want your friends to ask you for advice and vent to you, right?

No, that's not selfish, IF you're wanting it for the right reasons. Do you want them to vent to you so that you feel it's a more "balanced" relationship? So that you both depend on each other? If that's the reason, you're not selfish at all. You're just a good loving friend. :)

If you want it so that you don't feel guilty for venting, or you need to feel needed, then it is selfish and you need to step back and look at what you're doing.

But either way you have to remember that people are different. Some just can't vent. So don't push it.

I hate it when you give yourself in a relationship of some sort, and they don't give their part...It's very unbalanced. If I tell my feelings to my friend, I expect her to tell her my feelings. If I do something for a friend, I expect that she would do the same for me. That makes the relationship balanced...

But no, I don't think it's selfish really.
