Isn't it great to get all these lovely disorders and conditions you can relate yourself to?

I think I'm clinically shy. http://www.shyness.com/documents/2002/A ... andout.pdf

http://health.yahoo.com/centers/anxiety/680

And have type D personality.

Which means I'm too quiet, too insecure...and don't know how to act in social situations. And never assertive, gives in too easily. Many bad traits.

Yah. Anyway, I realize all these just explain why I am bad in everything I do that pertains to real life, aka relationships, family, especially jobs.

I cannot hold a job...I always do so bad. And yet I applied for a job to challenge me but I won't be able to do it because of my clinically shy personality...I'll be a wreck.

Fun . :(

Aw, sweetie, just see this as a challenge for you to overcome. It will just make victories in things that much sweeter, because you'll know you've beaten even more odds.

If you really can't handle this on your own, talk to a doctor or a therapist or something.

They're here to help you, and so are we! So don't be afraid to PM me anytime you need to talk or practice overcoming shyness.

It's good you looked into it.

I knew I was shy, went to the doctor and looked it up for myself, found I have Asperger's.

I use to be clinically shy. I overcame my shyness by forcing myself to go on stage and sing in front of a lot of people. It was hard, and nerve wrecking, but it works! Now I'm not as shy, but just a little reserved. That may not be for you, but it shows that you can come over your shyness. Like Hannah said you can PM me to talk or practice (maybe the three of us can do a chat room)

i'm pretty sure i am too. Just try to force yourself to do one thing a day that makes you nervous. Eventually you'll get over it. Sometimes i'm not shy at all... but usually i'm crazy shy. OMG dates are horrible, i can't even talk i'm such a mess! hahaha... embarassing. But yea, it helps to push yourself into doing things that make you nervous. Good luck... you'll get through it!

Don't worry! This is not something permanent, you CAN change. I can very much relate to your situation. I used to be a complete nervous wreck. When you learn to feel good about yourself, if you haven't already started to, you find that you can slowly begin to let go of some of these fears. For me, I had a huge fear of standing up in front of a group of people and speaking- at school, events, job interviews etc. Like everyone had been telling me to, I just imagined that everyone in the room was standing there naked. And I know this may seem really lame, but it worked over time!

Thanks guys. I think I exaggerated a bit...maybe I'm not clinically shy. I mean, I do speak to people, on an everyday basis, and I like singing and performing.

I'm just very self-conscious and insecure. And a major worrier. For example, I need a summer job...I've found a possible job for me which is a teacher's assistant working with 2-6 year olds. Though I probably have the right experience to be qualified, I've been thinking/feeling lately that I outgrew little kid babysitting...and I'm afraid to apply for this job because, what if I'm not enthusiastic enough...what if I don't really want to be there and end up doing a badd job? I mean, I'm 19 already. Plus, I've done so much kid-related work, I think I should be looking outside the box by now.
